What you'll do
You read clinical scenarios of the kind a primary care doctor sees every week (a presenting complaint, a history, some findings) and judge the reasoning attached to them. Is the differential sensible? Are the next steps right? Does the proposed treatment and follow-up match established practice? Where the content is wrong, vague or could mislead a patient, you say so and explain why with evidence-based reasoning.
The work is delivered as structured annotation, evaluation and quality-review tasks. The ad does not use the word AI in the scope, but it asks for prior human data experience (labelling, annotation, RLHF, model evaluation), which makes clear that the scenarios and answers feed model training.
The core skill is the one you use in clinic: working from symptoms to a differential and a plan, and knowing where current guidelines land.
Who fits
- Professional experience or demonstrated expertise in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, general medicine or a related field
- Relevant medical education, qualifications or certification (listed as preferred rather than required)
- Strong patient assessment, diagnosis, clinical reasoning and treatment planning
- Familiarity with current clinical guidelines and evidence-based practice
- Prior human data work such as annotation, RLHF or model evaluation
- Clear written and verbal communication
The ad does not require an active licence or board certification, and sets no minimum years.
What it pays
$80–285/hour, micro1's published band, and one of the widest it posts. The ad does not say what moves you from the bottom to the top; credentials and prior evaluation experience are the likely factors, but that is our reading, not micro1's statement. The Pharmaceutical Expert role posted the same day carries the identical band. For comparison, micro1's Hospitalist Physician listing pays $70–100/hour.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A top rate that competes with clinical locum pay, for remote review work
- 30 openings and a high-demand badge
- No licence or board certification is stated as a hard requirement
Less good:
- A $80–285 spread is too wide to plan around; ask where you would sit before committing time
- Prior human data experience is listed, which may favour clinicians who have done annotation work before
- No weekly hours, project length or screening process published
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax and indemnity questions to settle
