  • time management

What you'll do

The footage is of robotic arms working through assigned tasks, and your job is to turn each session into precisely labelled training data. You watch what the arm does, identify the actions that matter and whether they succeeded, and tag them against detailed grading guidelines.

Timing is the core skill. For every key action, transition and outcome you mark the exact start and end, aiming for frame-accurate segmentation of the whole session. Then you go back and check: whether your timestamps line up with what is actually on screen, and whether labels have drifted out of sync with the footage. Expect a lot of scrubbing back and forth over a few frames to settle when a grasp starts or a placement ends.

The rest is team work: submitting annotated datasets in the project's tools against milestones, raising ambiguous cases with trainers so the guidelines get sharper, and taking feedback from ongoing quality reviews.

Who fits

  • Exceptional attention to detail with visual data
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including timely progress updates
  • Self-organised enough to deliver remotely without supervision
  • A problem-solving habit when an annotation case is unclear

Preferred:

  • Prior video annotation or data labelling work
  • Familiarity with timeline-based annotation tools for timestamping and event segmentation
  • Frame-level or timecode experience (event boundaries, frame rates, frame-by-frame review)
  • A background in AI training, ML data preparation or robotics, which the ad marks as strongly preferred

Video editors, sports video analysts and QA testers who are used to working on a timeline will recognise most of this.

What it pays

$50–90/hour is micro1's published band. That is high for annotation work, which reflects the precision asked for and the robotics preference. The ad publishes no compensation structure, so whether you are paid for time or per task is not stated, and nothing says what decides where in the band you land. Weekly hours and project length are not stated either.

Where it is open

The location line names Northern America, Latin America, Europe, the UK and Oceania. Those are regions rather than a country list, so check the screening questions for which countries are accepted in practice.

How it differs from the other Senior AI Trainer listing

micro1 also has a Senior AI Trainer posting at $14–36/hour for Northern America and Europe that centres on grading and ranking AI chat and search answers. This one is a separate project: robotics video annotation, a $50 floor that sits above the other listing's $36 ceiling, 1,000 openings instead of 50, and a wider set of eligible regions.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • $50–90/hour is well above typical video annotation rates
  • 1,000 openings, flagged high demand
  • Eligible regions include Latin America and Oceania
  • A robotics or timecode background is a real advantage here

Less good:

  • Frame-accurate timestamping is slow, repetitive and hard on the eyes over long sessions
  • No compensation structure, weekly hours or project length published
  • A wide band with no stated basis for placement
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage

About this listing

Posted by micro1 on its own jobs portal about two weeks before we read it on 24 September 2026. The $50–90/hour band, the 1,000 openings and the regional location line are its published text. The customer behind the project is not named, and payment schedule and method are not published on the listing. See micro1.
