What you'll do

Somebody has written a set of Shopify analytics tasks for an AI project, and you are the person who tells them what is wrong with them. You read proposed task structures and scenarios, and flag where they drift from actual platform workflows or from Shopify's data model (orders, products, customers, reporting).

The feedback is concrete: unrealistic assumptions, missing edge cases, terminology that a store operator or analyst would never use, metrics defined in ways Shopify does not define them. You also suggest extra cases and restructurings so the scenarios reflect how operators and analysts actually work. Written feedback is the core deliverable, with some verbal discussion.

It is an advisory, review-shaped role rather than volume work, which fits the small headcount and the light weekly commitment.

Who fits

  • Five or more years of deep hands-on Shopify experience, in store operations, development or analytics
  • Detailed knowledge of the Shopify data model
  • A solid footing in e-commerce analytics: conversion, retention, cohorts and revenue measures
  • The ability to give clear, actionable feedback in writing and in conversation
  • Experience advising on how Shopify analytics work should be structured
  • Multi-store, agency or consultant experience is a plus, as are Shopify Plus, advanced reporting, SQL or BI tools such as Looker

No AI experience is required.

What it pays

$60–100/hour, micro1's published band, at roughly 5 to 10 hours a week according to the role type line. That puts a typical week somewhere around $300–1,000, our arithmetic on the two published figures rather than a stated amount.

The hiring flow is spelled out: an AI interview, then interviews with a recruiter and team members, then offer and onboarding.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A light, predictable commitment that fits alongside a full-time Shopify role
  • Advisory work that uses judgment rather than volume
  • Clear hiring steps
  • Remote, no country restriction stated

Less good:

  • Only two openings
  • Five years of deep ecosystem experience is a firm bar
  • No project duration stated
  • Contractor engagement, no benefits
