What you'll do

The skill set here is everyday supply chain work rather than strategy. You use an ERP (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or similar) at user level, build straightforward demand forecasts and supply plans from real or hypothetical data, complete supplier scorecards on cost, quality, reliability and service, and read inventory positions for discrepancies and looming shortages.

Reports are built in Excel with the functions any planner uses daily: pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas. Some scenarios combine sourcing and purchasing into an end-to-end procurement case. Throughout, you document how you reached a conclusion in language that works for technical and non-technical readers alike, because that reasoning is what the model learns from.

Who fits

  • Five or more years of hands-on work with a major ERP in a supply chain context
  • Demand planning or supplier scorecard experience, ideally owning supplier performance monitoring
  • Intermediate Excel for supply chain analysis and reporting
  • Structured supplier evaluation and relationship management
  • Experience alongside purchasing agents, or in a role mixing sourcing and procurement
  • Clear writing and the ability to work independently to deadlines

No AI experience is required.

What it pays

$55–100/hour, micro1's published band. No compensation structure, weekly hours or placement criteria are stated. The skills bar is practical (user-level ERP, intermediate Excel), which makes the rate attractive compared with typical planner or buyer pay.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Fifty openings and a high-demand flag
  • User-level ERP and intermediate Excel are enough; you do not need to be a systems architect
  • A good rate for mid-career planners and buyers
  • Remote, no country restriction stated

Less good:

  • Five years of ERP use is a firm floor
  • No hours, duration or pay structure published
  • The customer is not named
  • Contractor engagement, no benefits
