What you'll do

The task is short to describe and demanding to do well: hear a Turkish clip, decide how native it sounds, and say why in English. Clips come from human speakers or from model output, and you assess pronunciation, intonation and linguistic authenticity against the project's guidelines.

A native Turkish ear catches things a spec sheet would not. Vowel harmony running through long suffix chains, the silent-but-lengthening ğ in words like dağ and yağmur, final-syllable stress and its many exceptions (place names, some adverbs, suffixes that refuse stress), and the sentence melody of a question with mı: these are where synthetic Turkish tends to give itself away. The job rewards being able to point at the exact syllable that went wrong.

Written English justifications accompany every rating, consistency across clips is expected, and you work with project coordinators to resolve unclear requirements and keep to assignment deadlines.

Who fits

  • Native-level Turkish, spoken and written
  • English at B2 or above, strongest in writing
  • A background in linguistics, phonetics, voice work, music or audio engineering is preferred
  • Experience with audio analysis, transcription or linguistic assessment is highly valued
  • Media, communications or teaching experience is a plus

These are preferred qualifications, and no AI experience is needed.

What it pays

$30–65/hour, micro1's published band, identical across its bilingual evaluation listings for Polish, Russian, Tamil, Thai and Vietnamese. The ad does not explain how placement in the band is decided, and no payment schedule is published.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • 100 openings and a "High demand" tag
  • A $30 floor for work that needs only good headphones and a sharp ear
  • Turkish teachers, dubbing and voice professionals, and linguists are natural fits
  • No country restriction stated

Less good:

  • More than a 2x spread, with nothing published on placement
  • Subjective ratings live or die on the quality of the English write-up
  • No weekly hours, project length or volume are stated
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
  • The customer is not named
