What you'll do
Sweden has a deep pool of strong English speakers, so what sets this Swedish analyst assignment apart is that the ad still makes Swedish mandatory alongside English. The work is the same across Turing's language set: read substantial content, cut it into logical blocks, summarise it, research and validate its claims online, and work with a model on puzzles. You then write scenarios that expose model mistakes, with the right answer and the reasoning.
The ad's two samples are a monthly sales comparison across locations, where the time period and early volatility matter, and a postman puzzle with ordering rules across four neighbourhoods. It does not say which tasks are done in Swedish.
Who fits
- English and Swedish, both mandatory
- Good research and analytical skills, creative and lateral thinking
- Constructive feedback and detailed annotation
- Independent remote worker with a desktop or laptop and a good connection
- Availability of up to 40 hours a week preferred, overlapping US hours
Preferred: a degree in engineering, literature, journalism, communications, arts, statistics or related (or relevant experience), professional writing background, Excel and Google Suite, data interpretation and basic arithmetic. No other specialised domain experience is needed.
What it pays
No rate is published in the ad. Turing sets rates per project; see Turing.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Fully remote, with possible extension based on performance and project needs
- Open to people without a degree if they have relevant experience
- Does not require subject expertise, only analytical habits
Less good:
- Some overlap with UTC-8 (America/Los_Angeles) is required, 2 to 5 hours a day, so Swedish contractors will be working late
- Contractor assignment with no medical or paid leave
- No contract length, rate or assessment steps stated
