What you'll do
Here the model being tested is weak on context: which movement a painter belongs to, which museum holds a work, how a technique developed. Your job is to find where it goes wrong. You write challenging prompts across fine arts, visual arts, architecture, design, art history, museums and artists; compare and rank multiple AI responses; and explain with reliable references why each is correct or not.
You also look for hallucinations, outdated claims and logical gaps, build benchmark and adversarial test sets, and rewrite ambiguous questions into better ones, all while working with AI researchers.
Who qualifies
- Master's degree or higher in any field; Art History, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Museum Studies, Cultural Studies, Design or Humanities preferred
- Strong command of major artists, movements, styles, periods, techniques and institutions
- 3+ years in a relevant setting such as research, academia, museums, galleries, curation, criticism, education or publishing
- Excellent written English and careful attention to cultural and historical context
Preferred: LLM, generative AI, prompt engineering or evaluation experience; publications or teaching.
What it pays
The ad does not publish a rate. Turing sets rates per project, see Turing.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Puts museum, gallery and academic experience to work in a remote role
- No fixed degree subject required
- Defined 8-week scope
Less good:
- 40 hours a week and at least 4 hours of Pacific-time overlap
- Contractor assignment with no medical or paid leave
- The ad lists no country restriction, but the overlap requirement makes time zone a practical limit
- An assessment comes before any selection
