What you'll do

Sports is a field where small factual slips are easy to spot and easy for a model to make: a wrong record, a misattributed title, a rule that changed. You are paid to find them. The work covers global sports, leagues, athletes, tournaments, rules, statistics and analytics.

In practice you write advanced prompts, assess responses for accuracy, reasoning, completeness and nuance, flag hallucinations and outdated information, and supply evidence-based feedback with references. You also help build benchmark datasets and adversarial test cases and collaborate with AI researchers. Note that this ad lists no separate day-to-day task block, only the responsibilities.

Who qualifies

  • Master's degree or higher in any field; Sports Management, Sports Science, Journalism, Communications or Media Studies preferred
  • Strong knowledge of major leagues, teams, athletes, tournaments, rules and statistics in one or more sports
  • 3+ years' experience, preferably in sports journalism, media, content, research or reporting
  • Excellent written English, research and analytical skills

Preferred: LLM or AI evaluation experience, publications or teaching, and independent working habits.

What it pays

The ad does not publish a rate. Turing sets rates per project, see Turing.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • You can specialise in one or more sports rather than know all of them
  • Analytics and statistics knowledge counts, not only fandom
  • Defined 8-week scope

Less good:

  • 40 hours a week with at least 4 hours of Pacific-time overlap
  • Contractor assignment with no medical or paid leave
  • A master's degree is required, even if in an unrelated field
  • Assessment first, then selection
