What you'll do

Despite the title, this is a video data collection job, not interface testing. You film short first-person "walk-and-talk" videos, 1 to 5 minutes each, in real places near you while completing a single task or mission. As you go you point at or handle objects and give short voice commands to an AI assistant, following the recording guidelines. Each video needs a clear introduction, middle and conclusion, and you submit it with accurate location details (name and address or coordinates).

The practical side matters as much as the performance: steady footage, clear audio, safe public locations where filming is legally allowed, and respect for other people's privacy.

Who fits

  • Comfortable speaking on camera in English, clearly and naturally
  • A confident, personable presence on video
  • A smartphone or camera with good video and audio quality, and reliable internet for uploads
  • Able to follow task guidelines and deliver on schedule
  • Nice to have: vlogging, photography, tourism or performing arts background; YouTube, TikTok or Reels experience; basic framing or editing skills

What it pays

The ad does not publish a rate. Turing sets rates per project; see Turing.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • You film in your own area on your own time, and no specialist degree is needed
  • Creative work that suits people who already make short videos
  • Extended collaboration is possible based on performance and project needs

Less good:

  • No pay figure, yet a minimum of 20 hours a week and possibly 4 hours of overlap with Pacific Time
  • US only, and residents of Texas, Illinois, California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Vermont cannot take part because of consent regulations
  • Three-month contract with no medical or paid leave
  • You are filming in public, so planning locations and respecting bystanders takes effort
