Labeling Jobs

Claru

Claru, the trading name of Reka AI, Inc., builds training data for robotics, embodied AI and video models. Contributors record first-person video of everyday tasks or annotate and review data, matched to projects by profile. Each project brief sets its own pay, equipment and acceptance rules.

How it works

Claru sells video and robotics training data to AI labs building world models, vision-language-action models and video generators. Its own site describes two kinds of contributor work: collectors who film real-world tasks with a phone (walking routes, kitchen work, folding laundry, mopping, assembly, grocery aisles) and expert annotators who label what automated tools miss, such as intent, context and edge cases.

Anyone may create a contributor profile covering location, equipment, experience and interests. Claru then reviews fit against each project's eligibility rules (location, age, equipment, environment, availability) and, if you match, sends a brief that sets out the task, the setup, the acceptance criteria, any consent you need from people or places on camera, and the pay. You capture or annotate, submit, and Claru reviews the work against those criteria. Accepted work is paid on that project's terms.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Each project's pay and acceptance rules are in the brief before you start, so you can decline a project that does not suit you
  • Collection projects need no specialist background, often just a compatible phone, which opens the door to people without a degree or a technical profile
  • Claru states that a payment failing for banking reasons does not cancel what you earned for accepted work

Less good:

  • Claru publishes no rates at all; pay is revealed only after a match. Third-party job aggregators list figures from about $5 to $15 an hour for capture work, varying by region, and $35 to $100 an hour for expert annotation, but none of those come from Claru itself
  • A profile guarantees no work, no start date and no pay, in Claru's own words
  • Only work that passes Claru's review counts, and capture projects carry real setup demands (a set location, sometimes a particular camera or mount, and consent from anyone who appears on film)
  • Claru does not publish its payment method or payout schedule on its public pages

About this page

Facts above come from Claru's own pages at claru.ai (the homepage, the For Annotators page and its referral and affiliate agreement, which names Reka AI, Inc. as the company trading as Claru), last checked 23 October 2026. Claru publishes no rate, payout schedule, payment method or country list, so those fields are empty. The pay figures in Worth knowing come from third-party aggregators, not from Claru, and should be checked against the brief you receive.
