How it works
Sigma's main site describes four services: AI Data Foundations, Multi-Dimensional Evaluation, Human-in-the-Loop Operations, and AI Solutions and Advisory, all supervised by human experts. Contributor work is advertised as individual postings on its careers site (careers.sigma.ai), for example a Computational Linguist with Gen AI experience. The postings we found are freelance and remote, and typically cover annotation, correction, transcription and evaluation in a specific language. Reports on third-party job boards say applicants receive an email with mandatory tests after applying.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Language coverage is wide, with postings for many language-specific linguist roles
- Work is remote and freelance
Less good:
- Sigma does not publish pay for these roles
- There is no general sign-up page; you apply role by role, and many postings also appear on third-party boards, which can be hard to tell from genuine ones
- The screening tests are mandatory and the process is only described on third-party boards
About this page
Facts above come from sigma.ai and a posting on careers.sigma.ai, last checked 23 October 2026. Sigma's main site does not describe contributor onboarding, pay or payout, so those fields are empty and the process details above are from third-party postings. Compare Welocalize and Appen.
