What you'll do
Malta is a bilingual country where Maltese and English sit side by side, so a Maltese speaker's English has features that general English speech sets rarely cover. AfterQuery wants that variety on tape. The task is one recording: you follow a step-by-step guide, read a short script aloud, and submit the file through the platform the project uses. The ad puts it at about 15 minutes or less.
This is a quick-turnaround project, and the accent has to be yours. The ad is explicit that imitated or faked accents are not paid and are removed from the project.
Who fits
- A natural, authentic Maltese-influenced English accent (the ad's one hard requirement on voice)
- A smartphone or computer with a microphone
- Enough English to follow simple written instructions without help
- All genders are welcome
Preferred, not required: some earlier voice recording, narration or audio contribution work.
What it pays
The board headlines $30/hr, but the ad's own text pays $50 flat per submission, not by the hour. With a roughly 15 minute task, the flat fee is the number to plan around. The ad does not say whether one person can submit more than once.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A very small time commitment; one sitting
- A flat fee that does not depend on how fast you read
- No experience required
Less good:
- Only 3 to 5 Maltese-accent speakers are being accepted, so spots can go quickly
- A recording judged to be a faked accent is unpaid and removed
- The ad does not publish payment terms; AfterQuery's general payout details are on the company page
AfterQuery's help centre also describes an unpaid, one-attempt assessment and ID verification for its expert pools; whether that applies to this quick project is not stated in the ad.
