What you'll do
You review contract negotiation turns and reference redlines and assess whether the redline reflects what competent counsel would actually do: the right issues flagged, the right positions taken, the edits made surgically. Your output is clear, structured written feedback on redline quality, which AfterQuery uses as AI training and evaluation material.
Who fits
- 3+ years of hands-on negotiating and redlining of commercial contracts (MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, DPAs, vendor or SaaS agreements, or similar); this is the core requirement
- A bachelor's degree or higher
- The ability to give clear, structured written judgments
- Preferred: a JD, LLB or equivalent, SaaS or technology agreement experience, and a fast in-house, fractional GC or high-volume contracts background
The ad says a law degree is not required if you have direct hands-on redlining and negotiation experience. It does not name a country. Offers depend on a background check, and people meeting at least 70% of the listed qualifications are encouraged to apply.
What it pays
The board shows $150/hour and the ad text gives no range, so that is the figure. The ad says the work is paid per task, so what you earn per hour depends on your pace. Payment terms and weekly volume are not published on the listing; the AfterQuery company page covers the payout cycle from the company's help centre.
Worth knowing
Good:
- The same stated rate as the attorney version of this role, without the law degree requirement
- Open to contract managers, procurement and deal desk people who negotiate for a living
- Remote and flexible enough to fit around a full-time job
Less good:
- Per-task pay, so the hourly figure is not guaranteed
- Judging whether a redline matches what counsel would do is hard without legal training behind it; expect the work to lean on your own judgment
- The ad does not say how much work is available
- AfterQuery's help centre describes an unpaid, one-attempt assessment and ID verification before project matching
