What you'll do

You write health information scenarios covering privacy, release of information and record integrity, write reference answers with the regulatory reasoning behind each decision, and grade AI output for regulatory accuracy and disclosure risk. The flagging task is guidance that reads right but would breach privacy or corrupt the record, which is a real risk when a model answers HIPAA questions confidently.

Who fits

  • An RHIA or RHIT credential (AHIMA) in good standing
  • At least 2 years of HIM experience in a provider, payer or health IT setting
  • Depth in release of information, privacy, record integrity or data governance
  • Clear written English for documenting policy and compliance reasoning
  • A commitment of at least 10 hours a week

Preferred: HIPAA privacy or security officer experience, EHR implementation, data migration or registry work, and a CDIP, CHPS or CHDA credential. The form optionally asks for an AHIMA, RHIT or CCS credential.

What it pays

The ad states $70 to $95 per hour, paid weekly via Stripe, with the rate set from experience. The board headlines $83/hr. The terms are a 10-hour weekly minimum with no maximum, fully async hours, no screen recording, keystroke monitoring or idle timers, and independent contractor status.

How hiring works

Five steps: a five-minute application (resume plus structured questions), a resume review against a published rubric, a possible written assessment, onboarding (contractor agreement, Stripe, platform access) and a project match, usually within a week.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Credential-led work that suits HIM professionals who rarely find remote AI roles
  • Weekly Stripe pay with no monitoring software
  • A mid-range band for a non-clinical credential

Less good:

  • RHIA or RHIT is required
  • A 10-hour weekly minimum
  • Assessment is described by AfterQuery's help centre as unpaid and single-attempt
