Legal Specialist (Microsoft Office User)

micro1: pay and who it accepts · Posted Revised  · Apply link checked

What you'll do

You design realistic, multi-step legal prompts that mirror real workflows: contract review and drafting, legal research, case analysis, discovery support, regulatory compliance assessments and client advisory memos. You write, review and refine legal content used to train and evaluate AI, and help build and score evaluations that test whether a model can analyse statutes, case law, contracts and fact patterns and reach sound conclusions.

The Microsoft angle is concrete: you produce memos, briefs, redlines, summaries and trackers in Microsoft 365, including Copilot, and turn what you find in legal materials and AI output into recommendations both for the quality of the legal work product and for improving the model.

What you need

The ad lists everything below as preferred rather than strictly required, so treat it as the profile micro1 screens for.

  • Professional experience in a legal role (attorney, paralegal, legal counsel, contracts manager, compliance specialist or legal operations) in areas such as corporate, litigation, IP, employment, regulatory or real estate
  • Advanced Microsoft 365: Word with track changes and comparison tools, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Copilot
  • Excellent written and spoken English, able to explain legal concepts to lawyers and non-lawyers alike
  • Attention to detail and the ability to give clear, consistent feedback

Nice to have

  • Active bar admission, paralegal certification or equivalent credentials, depending on the role
  • Experience with AI training, data annotation or evaluating AI-generated content

What it pays

micro1 states $25–40/hour. The ad does not say whether pay is per hour or per task, or how many hours a week to expect. That is a modest band for legal work, and well below micro1's lawyer-focused expert listings, so it suits paralegals and early-career staff better than senior counsel.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • The scope welcomes paralegals, in-house staff and compliance professionals, not only qualified attorneys
  • 30 openings
  • Familiar tools: Word redlines, Teams and Copilot rather than a custom annotation platform
  • Fully remote, with no country restriction stated

Less good:

  • Low ceiling for experienced attorneys
  • No hours, duration or pay mechanism published
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits
  • Credentials are listed as preferred, so how strictly they are screened is unclear
  • The customer is not named
