What you'll do
You build the test material that AI labs use to check whether a model gives sound nutrition advice. That means writing realistic patient scenarios that run from referral through follow up, writing reference answers that show the clinical reasoning behind each recommendation, and grading model output for evidence quality and patient safety.
The part that rewards clinical instinct is the last one: spotting advice that sounds healthy in general but would harm this specific patient, for example a sensible-sounding diet change that ignores a renal or oncology picture. Your written reasoning is the product, so it has to be clear enough that another RDN could follow it.
Who fits
- An RDN credential (CDR), with state licensure where your state requires it
- 2+ years of clinical or community practice
- Depth in medical nutrition therapy and nutrition assessment
- Clear written English for documenting care plans and reasoning
- Able to commit at least 10 hours a week
Preferred: critical care, renal, oncology or pediatric experience; board certification such as CNSC, CSR or CSO; experience precepting interns or teaching nutrition content. The application form has an optional field for your RDN credential.
What it pays
The board headlines $75/hr. The ad's own contract section states a range of $60 to $90/hr, set from your experience and, it says, not negotiated down after you start. Payment is weekly via Stripe as an independent contractor.
Other terms in the ad: fully remote and async with no fixed hours, a 10 hour weekly minimum with no maximum, and no screen recording, keystroke monitoring or idle timers. It describes ongoing project work rather than single task batches.
How hiring works
The ad describes five steps: a roughly five minute application (resume plus a few structured questions), a resume review against a published rubric with a decision for every applicant, a possible written assessment for further placement, onboarding (contractor agreement, Stripe, platform access), and a match to live work in your specialty, usually within a week of onboarding.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A stated hourly range with an explicit 'no negotiating down' promise
- Fully async, no clinic schedule, no monitoring software
- Work that uses real clinical judgment rather than generic labelling
- Hiring steps and payment terms are spelled out in the ad
Less good:
- A 10 hour weekly minimum is required
- Placement depends on matching a live project, and a written assessment may be required
- The company page notes worker complaints about slow review and gaps between projects, so treat the top of the range as a ceiling, not a promise
