What you'll do

You author and grade the airway and ventilation scenarios that AI labs use to see whether a model can reason like a respiratory therapist. The ad lists four tasks: writing realistic respiratory care scenarios from assessment through intervention, writing reference answers that explain the clinical reasoning behind each setting change, grading model output for physiologic accuracy and patient safety, and flagging vent settings or airway advice that reads right but would harm the patient.

This is a narrow clinical field where plausible-sounding mistakes are easy to make, so the value is in catching them and explaining why in writing another RT can follow.

Who fits

  • An RRT credential from the NBRC with an active, unencumbered state license
  • 2+ years of acute care experience as a respiratory therapist
  • Depth in ventilator management, blood gas interpretation and airway care
  • Clear written English for documenting clinical reasoning
  • Able to commit at least 10 hours a week

Preferred: ICU, NICU or ED experience; an ACCS, NPS or RPFT specialty credential; preceptor or clinical education experience. The application form has an optional field for your RRT/CRT credential.

What it pays

The board headlines $75/hr. The ad's contract section states $60 to $90/hr, paid weekly via Stripe, with the rate set from your experience and not negotiated down after you start. It is independent contractor work, fully remote and async with no fixed hours, a 10 hour weekly minimum and no maximum. The ad also says there is no screen recording, keystroke monitoring or idle timers, and describes ongoing project work rather than single task batches.

How hiring works

Per the ad: a roughly five minute application (resume plus structured questions), a resume review against a published rubric with a decision for each applicant, a possible written assessment for further placement, onboarding (contractor agreement, Stripe, platform access), then a match to live work in your specialty, usually within a week of onboarding.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A published range and weekly pay, with no monitoring software
  • Night-shift-free, async work for experienced acute care RTs
  • Clear credential requirements, so it is easy to tell if you qualify

Less good:

  • Needs acute care experience and a current NBRC RRT, so newer graduates are out
  • A 10 hour weekly minimum applies
  • Project matching is not guaranteed, and the company page notes contractor complaints about gaps between projects
