What you'll do

This is project-based evaluation work for strong undergraduates, across any discipline. You use what coursework, lab work and research have given you to assess, write and validate content in your own field for an AI evaluation research project.

According to the ad, that means judging materials for accuracy, depth and quality as a trained specialist would, spotting errors, ambiguities or gaps a non-expert reviewer would miss, and writing a structured rationale for every decision. You will also read visual or diagrammatic content from your field (the ad's examples: schematics, spectra, maps, clinical images, artworks, data charts). Each project window has a defined set of annotation tasks, quoted as 10 to 20 hours a week.

Who qualifies

  • Currently a junior or senior undergraduate at a research university, with strong academic standing in your field
  • Clear, well-reasoned written explanations of domain-specific judgments, and strong English writing
  • Familiarity with the visual conventions and technical vocabulary of your discipline
  • Reliable internet access and availability for asynchronous remote work

Preferred: research experience (a lab, RA position, independent study or thesis), especially with image-based data; prior annotation, data labeling or AI evaluation experience; strong standing in a top program; general familiarity with AI tools; and quantitative methods training.

What it pays

The board headlines $100 an hour. The ad text words pay differently: $800 to $1,500 per project week, depending on discipline and seniority, with top candidates eligible for premium rates. The ad does not reconcile the two, so the per-project-week figure is the one the text commits to. It gives no payment method or schedule.

You pick which projects to take. The estimated commitment is up to 10 hours a week per project window.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Aimed at undergraduates, not only people with advanced degrees
  • You accept only projects that fit your schedule
  • Asynchronous work you can fit around classes
  • Any discipline can apply

Less good:

  • Only juniors and seniors qualify, and only while enrolled
  • Pay is quoted per project week with no stated payment method or schedule
  • The ad's hour figures differ (up to 10 hours a week in one place, 10 to 20 in another), so ask what a window involves
  • Work is assigned project by project, so steady hours are not promised

About this listing

Read from the AfterQuery Experts board on 18 October 2026, listed in its Humanities department and posted 8 June 2026. The ad does not describe its hiring steps; AfterQuery's help centre describes an unpaid, one-attempt assessment and identity verification for expert pools, covered on the company page.
