What you'll do
You strap your phone to your head and record yourself doing ordinary housework, following the household tasks the project specifies. The first-person footage, with your hands in view, teaches AI and robotics systems what household tasks look like from the doer's perspective.
Onboarding includes a device compatibility check and an AI-run interview, and the ad says selected candidates will be asked to complete identity verification within 48 hours of being contacted before any contract is issued. Beyond "specified physical tasks", the ad does not list which chores or how long each recording should be.
Who can apply
- Residence in one of the countries named on the ad: Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama or Uruguay (the ad introduces the list with "selected countries include", so check on the listing if yours is not there)
- A compatible phone: iPhone 12 or later, Google Pixel 6 to 9, or Samsung Galaxy S21 or later
- Willingness to wear a phone mount on your head while you work
- The physical ability to do repetitive movement tasks safely
No working language is stated. The listing is written in English, so expect the onboarding and instructions to be in English too.
What it pays
$6 per hour of recorded video that meets the project guidelines. That is an hour of accepted footage, not an hour of your time, so retakes and rejected clips are unpaid.
On top of that, micro1 pays a $20 signing bonus, meant to cover the head strap, once you have completed 20 hours of work. Until then the strap is your own cost.
For comparison, micro1's US version of this same job pays $10–15/hour. The work described is the same; the rate follows the market.
Worth knowing
Good:
- No skills beyond owning a recent phone and doing your own chores
- 1,000 openings, so the bottleneck is the verification, not competition
- Fully remote, from your own home
- The head strap cost is refunded after 20 hours
Less good:
- $6 per accepted hour is low even by local standards in several of the listed countries, and unpaid setup time pushes the effective rate lower
- You are filming inside your own home; think about what else ends up in frame
- Identity verification within 48 hours is required before any contract
- Start date depends on how long the head strap takes to ship to you
- No weekly minimum or maximum, and no project length, is stated
