What you'll do

Despite the title, nothing here gets produced. micro1 wants people from audiovisual production to review and annotate robotic video and other audiovisual content for an AI project. You watch footage, pick out the visual and audio elements, events and actions that matter, and label segments using predefined categories. You also assess basic quality: clarity, audio-video synchronisation, continuity, framing and sound.

The rest of the job is noticing what is off (inconsistencies, errors, unusual events), writing short descriptions and feedback on what you reviewed, following the annotation instructions the same way on every task, and taking feedback from the project team.

Sound is what sets this listing apart from micro1's other robotic footage roles. A production background gives you the habits it needs: checking sync, hearing a dropout, catching a continuity break between takes. The ad is also frank that you should be comfortable reviewing video "for extended periods".

Who fits

Unusually for micro1, most of these are marked required rather than preferred:

  • Professional or academic experience in audiovisual production, video production, filmmaking, media production or a related field
  • A good grasp of video and audio fundamentals: framing, continuity, synchronisation and media quality
  • The ability to observe and describe actions and events in video carefully
  • Familiarity with common video editing or production tools
  • Strong attention to detail and the discipline to follow structured guidelines
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Comfort annotating video for long stretches, working independently and remotely

Preferred: a bachelor's degree in audiovisual production, film, media or communications; editing, media review, QC or post-production experience; any data annotation or AI training background (a plus, not required); and experience categorising content against structured guidelines.

Post-production and QC people are the closest match. Pure camera operators or directors will find the work much more like logging and QC than anything creative.

What it pays

$50–90/hour. The same $50–90 band appears on micro1's other robotic footage roles, including Filmmaker, Video Annotation Specialist and Senior AI Trainer (Robotics Video Annotation), so this looks like one project recruiting through several job titles. The ad does not say what sets your rate inside the band, how many hours are on offer or how long it runs.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Flagged high demand, with 100 openings
  • A production background counts directly; no AI experience needed
  • The audio side makes use of skills other footage roles ignore
  • Remote, with no country restriction on the ad

Less good:

  • Repetitive review work, which the ad itself warns about
  • A wide band with no published basis for placement
  • No hours, duration or customer published
  • If you applied to one of the sibling roles above, it may be the same project
  • Contractor terms, with no benefits

About this listing

Posted by micro1 on its own jobs portal on 29 September 2026 and read there the next day, when it was marked new and flagged as high demand. The $50–90/hour band, the 100 openings, the contractor terms and the qualifications above come from the listing. See micro1.
