Skills
  • behavioral analysis
  • annotation
  • behavioral cue identification
  • scenario-based training development
  • ai response evaluation
  • quality assurance

What you'll do

You teach an AI to read people. The core task is annotation: going through text, audio and video and labelling the behavioural cues in it (tone shifts, gestures, speech patterns, the small tells that change what a sentence means) with explanations detailed enough for a model to learn the reasoning behind each label.

Around that sit three related jobs. You write scenario-based training material drawn from your own professional experience. You review AI-generated responses and judge whether they read the behaviour correctly and responded appropriately. And you help project leads tighten the annotation guidelines, which is where experienced observers usually add the most, because guidelines for "sarcasm" or "discomfort" break on real footage in ways nobody predicted.

The ad's choice of backgrounds is unusual and worth taking at face value: behavioural therapists and counsellors, but also theatre and acting coaches. Anyone whose job has been to notice and name small changes in how a person carries themselves fits the brief.

Who fits

All listed as preferred:

  • A background in behavioural therapy, counselling, theatre or acting coaching, or another field built on observing behaviour
  • A demonstrated eye for subtle changes in tone, speech, body language and gesture
  • Clear, nuanced writing and speaking
  • Experience creating training materials or coaching others
  • High standards for accuracy, and comfort working independently with remote tools

No degree, licence or years of experience is stated.

Where you can work from

The ad lists Northern America, Latin America, the United Kingdom, Europe and Oceania. Those are regions rather than a country list, so check that your country is covered before you apply; Africa, Asia and the Middle East are not mentioned.

What it pays

$20–70/hour, micro1's published band. That 3.5x spread is wide, and the ad does not say what decides placement, nor whether pay is hourly or per task. Credentialed clinicians should ask where they land before committing, since the floor sits well below typical clinical rates.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Part-time or full-time, your choice
  • A rare AI role that values acting and theatre coaching experience
  • Multimodal work (text, audio and video), which is more varied than text-only labelling
  • Ten openings, flagged as high demand

Less good:

  • $20 floor with no published basis for placement
  • No compensation structure, hours, duration or hiring steps published
  • Region-level eligibility leaves some countries ambiguous
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
