  • attention to detail

What you'll do

The customer has run datasets through a transformation meant to strip or anonymise personal information. Your job is to check whether it worked. You spot-check the output, looking for PII that was missed or handled badly, and you review documents to confirm privacy standards were applied consistently.

When you find something, you document it using the project's tools and templates and give clear, actionable feedback. The ad emphasises qualitative input: you judge whether something is identifying in context. A name is obvious; a job title plus a town plus a date may identify someone just as well, and that is the kind of call the work turns on.

Who fits

  • A background in contract review, QA, eDiscovery or compliance
  • Solid understanding of PII and data privacy regulation
  • Experience as a paralegal, eDiscovery specialist, privacy analyst, information governance specialist, compliance manager or document review lead
  • Legal document review, litigation support or managed legal services experience
  • A record of handling sensitive data in high-stakes settings
  • Accuracy under pressure

What it pays

$31–60/hour, micro1's published figure. The band is wide and the ad does not say what places you within it; seniority in document review or privacy is the likely lever, but that is our reading, not micro1's.

No pay structure, weekly hours or project length are stated.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • A direct fit for document reviewers and paralegals, whose skills rarely get a dedicated AI-training listing
  • 60 openings, flagged as high demand
  • The scope is narrow and well defined: find what the redaction missed
  • No AI background asked for

Less good:

  • Spot-checking redactions is repetitive, and misses matter
  • The kind of data and the customer are not named
  • A wide band with no published placement criteria
  • No hours, duration or start date published
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
