Skills
  • litigation strategy
  • legal research
  • case management
  • case analysis
  • legal drafting

What you'll do

The project is about managing and resolving complex legal disputes, and you supply the litigator's reasoning an AI is trained on. The ad describes the full arc of a case:

  • Analysing disputes and building litigation strategy from the facts and the applicable law
  • Researching statutes, regulations and case law
  • Drafting and reviewing pleadings, motions and briefs
  • Assessing evidence, contracts and discovery material
  • Writing case management recommendations and procedural strategies for hypothetical or real-life scenarios
  • Explaining litigation principles and practice in plain written and spoken terms

You also work alongside other legal experts to keep the output in line with current litigation practice. Much of this is producing work product rather than grading a model's attempt, which makes it closer to associate-level drafting than to rubric review.

Who fits

  • A J.D. from an accredited law school
  • An active law license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Extensive civil or commercial litigation experience, including case strategy, discovery and motion practice
  • Strong legal research, writing and analysis
  • The organisation to handle several assignments at once

Experience consulting or training on litigation topics is a plus. No prior AI experience is needed. All of this sits under "preferred qualifications", but a U.S. license and real litigation practice are clearly the expected profile.

What it pays

$80–150/hour is the published band, but the ad's compensation section changes how to read it: pay is output-based, per task that meets the project specification, and time per task varies with your experience and workflow. There is a minimum number of tasks per week (the ad does not give the number).

So the hourly figure is an effective rate, not a guaranteed one. Work that is not accepted is unpaid, and slow early tasks lower your effective rate. Ask in screening what the weekly minimum is and what share of tasks typically passes review.

Start timeline

micro1 says it usually fills these roles within 48 hours and expects new experts to start their first tasks within 24–48 hours of finishing onboarding. If you cannot start promptly, say so up front.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • 100 openings, flagged as high demand
  • The pay structure is disclosed, which many listings omit
  • Drafting and strategy work uses the skills you already bill for
  • Fast start if you want work quickly

Less good:

  • Per-task pay: rejected work is unpaid and no acceptance rate is published
  • A weekly task minimum applies, but the number is not stated
  • The quick start expectation is hard to meet alongside a full caseload
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits, no notice period, your own tax to manage

About this listing

Posted by micro1 on its own jobs portal and read on 12 October 2026. The $80–150/hour band, 100 openings and the compensation and start-timeline terms are its published text. Location is given only as remote, with no country restriction, though the U.S. license preference narrows the field in practice. Payment schedule is not published on the listing. See micro1.
