What you'll do

This is the core consulting loop, done for a model's benefit. You get an ambiguous business problem and a pile of scattered, unorganised information; you structure the problem, pull out what matters, run basic quantitative checks in Excel, and produce an executive-ready slide deck that tells one clear story and lands on one or two actionable recommendations.

What the AI is meant to learn from you is the judgment in between: which facts to drop, how to frame an issue tree so the answer falls out of it, and how to write a deck a CEO can read in five minutes. You work with project leads to refine deliverables against the client's objectives, and communicate in writing and on calls in a remote setup.

Who fits

  • A track record as a strategy analyst, management consultant or similar business adviser
  • The ability to turn unstructured information into a clear narrative and recommendation
  • Advanced PowerPoint, at polished executive level
  • Comfort with basic Excel analysis
  • Strong written and spoken communication, especially remotely
  • Independence on remote projects with little guidance

No years of experience, firm tier or degree is specified, and no AI background is needed.

What it pays

$60–120/hour, micro1's published band. That sits well below micro1's other consulting listings: its Management Consultant role pays $245–280/hour, and the Management Consulting Expert slide-reconstruction role pays $150–350/hour. The lower band here matches the lower bar: no firm pedigree is asked for. Pay mechanics and hours are not stated.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Fifty openings and a "High demand" badge
  • Open to analysts without big-three consulting pedigree
  • The deliverables mirror real consulting work, so the skill transfers both ways

Less good:

  • Considerably lower pay than micro1's pedigree-gated consulting roles
  • Building polished decks is slow; if pay turns out to be per task, effective rates may drop
  • No hours, duration or pay mechanism published
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits
