Read the experience requirement first
The ad draws an unusually sharp line, and it will decide whether you should bother:
4+ years of direct, hands-on experience in SaaS revenue, sales, customer success, or implementation operations (not adjacent or management-only exposure).
That parenthesis is the filter: having run a RevOps team, owned the budget, or signed off on the roadmap does not qualify you here. The ad wants people who have worked inside the object manager themselves. The scope of work reinforces it, asking you to "deliver detailed process walk-throughs based on personal system configuration experience, highlighting decision points and lessons learned."
The likely reason is that a model can already read documentation about how Salesforce should be configured. What it cannot get is why you chose the ugly workaround in month three and what broke when you did.
Have two or three real examples ready before you apply: a policy conflict you arbitrated, a data integrity problem you traced, a compliance constraint that forced a design compromise.
What you'll do
You assess and refine CRM data models against changing sales, customer success and revenue operations requirements. You diagnose gaps in revenue data integrity that undermine reporting. You design and validate compliance-constrained workflows for SaaS revenue processes, against vertical-specific regulation.
The part that is least like a normal RevOps job, and most like AI training, is policy arbitration. You are asked to "identify, arbitrate, and document resolutions for conflicting operational policies, explaining logical choices and tradeoffs." That means writing down the reasoning behind the right answer when two internal rules genuinely conflict and neither is wrong.
Alongside that: recommending system improvements for scalability and cross-functional alignment, and contributing written and verbal input to scenario-based training tasks with project stakeholders.
What you need
- Four or more years hands-on in SaaS revenue, sales, customer success, or implementation operations, not management-only
- Proven CRM ownership with configuration experience: Salesforce and HubSpot are named, "or similar"
- At least two additional tools alongside the CRM: billing, CPQ, ticketing, or project tracking
- Demonstrated ability to resolve policy conflicts and explain operational tradeoffs in high-complexity, high-compliance settings. Fintech, healthtech, insurtech or similar are strongly preferred
- Strong operational judgement where rules, regulations and business needs intersect
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Process design experience for regulated industries or multi-product SaaS implementations
- Comfort with ambiguity, and specifically with deciding what to change versus what to leave stable, and articulating why
These are filed under "preferred qualifications", but the hands-on requirement is written as an exclusion, which is not how a preference is normally phrased.
What it pays
$50–100/hour. The band is $50 wide with no published basis for where in it you land.
The ad carries no compensation-structure section: no per-task rate, no submission minimum, nothing about whether the hourly figure buys your time or is computed some other way. Ask before you accept.
Worth knowing
Good:
- The requirement is what you have actually built, not where you built it: no degree, no named employer, no firm tier
- RevOps expertise is rarely sellable by the hour; this is one of the few places it is
- Regulated-vertical experience is an advantage here rather than a niche
- Ten openings, and the hands-on filter thins the field considerably
- Documenting tradeoff reasoning is closer to craft than to data entry
Less good:
- $50–100/hour is modest against four years of specialist operations experience in a regulated vertical plus configuration ownership of two or three systems
- No compensation structure stated anywhere on the listing
- A $50-wide band with no published basis for placement
- The hands-on exclusion cuts out capable people whose recent years have been managerial
- No screening process, no start timeline, no project duration, no stated weekly hours
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, no notice period, your own tax to manage
- Neither the customer nor what the trained system will do is named
