What you'll do
You are the check on whether an AI system talks about psychology the way a Filipino clinician would. Half of the work is review: reading psychological case studies, assessments and AI-generated content, then judging them for accuracy, ethical soundness and fit with professional best practice, with feedback that draws on your own experience. The other half is authoring: writing culturally sensitive psychological scenarios and materials in Tagalog and English that go into model training.
The language work is the core of it. The ad asks you to interpret and refine psychological assessments so their meaning holds across Tagalog and English, which is harder than translation. Words for distress, shame, family obligation and help-seeking rarely map one to one, and everyday speech in the Philippines moves between the two languages mid-sentence. A psychologist who has worked with clients in both will catch problems a translator would miss.
You also document how you reached each judgement, clearly enough that someone else could reproduce it, and work with interdisciplinary teams on the project.
Who fits
micro1 lists these as preferred qualifications:
- A PhD in Psychology, with experience in both clinical and academic settings
- Native or near-native Tagalog and English, including complex psychological terminology in both
- Strong analytical and critical thinking, with a record of ethical decision-making
- Experience developing or evaluating case studies and psychological assessments
- Strong written and verbal communication, especially when carrying nuanced concepts between Tagalog and English
- Comfort with digital tools for remote collaboration and documentation
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability in multicultural settings
No AI experience is needed. The section is labelled "preferred", but the doctorate is in the job title, so treat it as the real gate. A master's-level counsellor or a licensed psychometrician without a PhD should not expect to qualify.
What it pays
$100–200/hour, micro1's published band. The ad does not say what decides where you land within it, and it does not say whether the rate buys your time or is a per-task equivalent. Ask before you accept.
Worth knowing
Good:
- A doctoral-level rate for work that uses clinical and cultural judgement rather than generic labelling
- 70 openings, a large intake for a credentialed role
- A listing written for Tagalog alone: micro1's earlier Bilingual Mental Health Expert pooled sixteen languages and both professions into one ad, while this one is aimed squarely at Tagalog-speaking psychologists
- Remote with no country restriction on the listing, so it is open to Filipino psychologists abroad as well as in the Philippines
Less good:
- A 2x spread with no published basis for placement
- No hours, duration or start date stated
- Reviewing difficult clinical scenarios can be emotionally heavy
- The skills list on the listing card includes "Bilingual in japanese", which matches nothing in the description and looks like a leftover from another posting; the text itself asks only for Tagalog and English
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, your own tax to manage
