What you'll do

Robotics models learn from footage of robots doing things, and the footage is only useful once someone has said what happened in it. That is this job. For each assignment you:

  • Annotate and review robotics video against the guidelines supplied for that assignment
  • Label specific actions, objects and events in the footage, completely and precisely
  • Score clips for data quality, relevance and accuracy using a predefined scoring guide
  • Run quality checks on your own annotations before delivery

You also document why you made borderline calls, feed back on whether the guidelines are clear, and work with the micro1 project team to settle ambiguous scoring cases. Deliveries run to set timeframes.

Who fits

  • Mid-level video annotation experience across platforms or projects
  • Close attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • The ability to interpret and apply complex guidelines and scoring rubrics
  • Clear written and spoken communication for remote teamwork
  • A self-directed, problem-solving work style

Previous robotics footage or robotics annotation experience is heavily preferred, and familiarity with AI review or annotation QA helps. No prior AI experience is required in general.

What it pays

A flat $7/hour, micro1's published figure, with no range. It is the lowest rate on micro1's video annotation listings: its Video Data Annotation Specialist clip-labelling role pays $8–10/hour, and its robotics-arm Video Annotation Specialist pays $50–90/hour. The ad publishes no weekly hours or project duration.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Specific, well-scoped task with a scoring guide
  • Robotics annotation experience is a growing specialism and transfers to better-paid projects
  • Fully remote with no country restriction stated

Less good:

  • $7/hour flat, with no room to earn more on this listing
  • Mid-level annotation experience asked for at an entry-level rate
  • Only 20 openings, and the listing is about two months old
  • Deadlines on deliveries, with no hours or duration stated
  • Contractor engagement: no benefits and your own tax to manage
