Chemistry Expert (AI Training Waitlist)
Sovrano AI: pay and who it accepts · Posted
What you'll do
Models can balance an equation and narrate a mechanism convincingly. What they lack is the experience of a reaction that worked in a 50 mL flask and failed at scale. Sovrano AI wants chemists who have been at the bench to check model output, and this listing signs them up for future projects.
It is a waitlist. Your application is not tied to a project, Sovrano reviews applicants from time to time, and it says it will not contact everyone on the list. After applying you complete an AI interview about chemistry that the ad puts at about 20 minutes. When a project fits your background, Sovrano sends the scope, hours and rate, and you choose whether to take it.
Project tasks, per the ad, are drawn from your own subfield:
- Writing chemistry problems and scenarios with worked answers
- Reviewing other chemists' work against an acceptance checklist
- Grading AI answers on mechanisms, spectra and lab practice, catching wrong mechanisms, bad stoichiometry and unsafe procedures
Safety is part of the grading, since the ad lists unsafe procedures among the errors to flag. Everything is reviewed before it is paid.
Who fits
A degree in chemistry or a closely related field, in progress or completed, meets the requirement, so current students can apply. The ad also wants fluent written English, a reliable connection, a quiet place to work, the AI interview, and a willingness to work without AI help where a project requires it.
Sovrano's skill tags span organic, physical and analytical chemistry, with spectroscopy, reaction mechanisms, laboratory methods, stoichiometry and lab safety. Spectra are in the grading list, so expect to judge spectral interpretation. Bench time is what the ad's own description of the expert stresses.
Applicants must be in North America, Europe or Turkey; the work is remote.
What it pays
Up to $150 an hour. That is the top of the range; Sovrano sets each project's rate and sends it before you start, and the ad gives no lower figure. Only approved work is paid. Payment terms are not published on the listing.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Chemistry students qualify alongside graduates and working chemists
- Work is matched to your subfield
- You see the rate, scope and hours in writing first
- Part-time remote work with a high ceiling
Less good:
- A waitlist: no project is attached and contact is not guaranteed
- $150 is a ceiling with no floor published
- Unapproved work is unpaid
- Hours and project length are not stated
About this listing
The ad went up on Sovrano AI's job list on 28 October 2026, and we read it there on 1 November 2026, while it was accepting applications. Other Sovrano "Expert" waitlists (life sciences, engineering, business) use the same terms. See Sovrano AI.
How to get hired
- Screening is the AI interview of about 20 minutes named in the ad. Our company page says Sovrano's assessment tests domain knowledge and evaluation ability.
- Put your subfield and degree stage first on your profile, then the instruments and methods you have used yourself, since the grading covers spectra and lab practice.
- Ask a model to propose a mechanism or assign a spectrum from your own coursework or research, then mark each step where it goes wrong or leaves out a safety precaution.
- There is no Sovrano interview guide on our site yet; our interview prep page has general advice on AI interviews.
