Life Sciences Expert (AI Training Waitlist)
Sovrano AI: pay and who it accepts · Posted
What you'll do
Ask a model how a knockdown experiment should go and you will get a tidy protocol. Ask why yours did not reproduce and the answer gets thin. Sovrano AI is recruiting life scientists to grade that gap, and it is filling a waitlist; there is no live project yet.
Applying puts you in Sovrano's life sciences network. Nothing more is promised: Sovrano reviews the pool now and then, contacts people whose background suits a project, and says it will not reach everyone. Your one task after applying is an AI interview about your field of roughly 20 minutes. If a project matches, the scope, hours and rate come to you in writing, and you can decline.
The ad describes project work in biology, biochemistry, genetics or computational biology:
- Writing questions and scenarios with worked answers
- Reviewing other scientists' work against an acceptance checklist
- Grading AI answers on experimental design and data interpretation, catching flawed experimental logic, misread data and outdated claims
All of it is reviewed, and pay is for approved work.
Who fits
The requirement is a degree in biology or a related life science, in progress or completed, so undergraduates and graduate students meet it. The ad also asks for fluent written English, a reliable connection and quiet workspace, the AI interview, and willingness to work without AI tools where a project bans them.
The ad's phrasing leaves room for dry-lab people: it describes the expert as a scientist who has stood at the bench or worked through the data. The skill tags match that mix, with molecular and cell biology, genetics and biochemistry next to bioinformatics, statistics and experimental design, plus scientific writing. "Outdated claims" in the grading list means current knowledge of the literature counts alongside textbook biology.
Applicants must be in North America, Europe or Turkey.
What it pays
Up to $150 an hour, a ceiling. Sovrano sets the rate per project and states it in the offer; the ad gives no minimum. Payment is for approved work. The listing does not publish payment terms.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Students and early-career researchers meet the formal requirement
- Computational and wet-lab backgrounds both fit the ad's description
- You know the rate and scope before you say yes
- Remote and part time
Less good:
- A waitlist with no attached project and no guarantee of contact
- Only an upper pay figure is published
- Work that fails review is not paid
- No information on weekly hours or project length

How to get hired
- The screening is the AI interview of about 20 minutes in the ad; our company page says Sovrano's assessment covers domain knowledge and how well you evaluate answers.
- Lead your profile with your degree stage and the techniques or analyses you have run yourself (cloning, CRISPR screens, sequencing analysis, cell culture), since the ad prizes hands-on experience.
- Take a published figure from your area, ask a model to interpret it, and list each place the reading overreaches the data or relies on an outdated claim.
- There is no Sovrano interview guide on our site yet; our interview prep page covers AI interviews more generally.
