Mathematics Expert (AI Training Waitlist)

Sovrano AI: pay and who it accepts · Posted

What you'll do

Language models are good at producing text with the shape of a proof. The weak points sit in the steps they skip: a limit swapped with a sum without justification, a case missing from an induction, an inequality that flips for negative values and nobody checked. The ad describes the job as following a proof line by line and noticing where it quietly skips a step.

Know what you are signing up for first. This listing is a waitlist with no project behind it. You apply, take a roughly 20-minute AI interview about your field, and wait; Sovrano reviews the list periodically and writes to people whose profile fits a project. Not everyone hears back, and the timing depends on demand.

If you are picked for a project, it could involve:

  • writing original problems at a level you choose, each with a complete solution
  • checking other mathematicians' solutions against an acceptance checklist
  • grading AI proofs and calculations step by step, flagging gaps in reasoning, unjustified steps and wrong results

All of it goes through review, and payment is for approved work.

Who fits

You need a degree in mathematics or a closely related field, and it can still be in progress. Fluent written English matters more here than it might seem, because what you hand in is written argument that a reviewer has to follow. The ad also asks for a reliable connection, a quiet workspace and willingness to work without AI help where a project bans it.

Sovrano's skill tags run from calculus, linear algebra and probability through discrete mathematics, real analysis and statistics to proof writing and mathematical modelling. The ad lets you choose the level of the problems you write, so say clearly where your comfort zone ends; a strong second-year student and a working analyst are useful for different projects.

What it pays

The listing gives a maximum of $150 an hour and no minimum. Each project sets its own rate, which Sovrano sends in writing together with the scope and hours before you start. Payment terms are not published on the listing.

The waitlist promises no work until a project matches your background.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Undergraduate and graduate students in mathematics can apply
  • You choose the difficulty of the problems you write
  • No obligation: you can say no to any offer
  • Remote, part-time, open across North America, Europe and Turkey

Less good:

  • A waitlist: no project, no start date and no promise of contact
  • The real hourly rate is unknown until a project is offered
  • Rejected work is not paid
  • No weekly hours are given

About this listing

Sovrano posted this role on 28 October 2026; we read it from the signed-in job list on 1 November 2026, when it was taking applications. The location covers three regions rather than named countries. See Sovrano AI.

How to get hired

  • The screening is the short AI interview (about 20 minutes) on your field; Sovrano describes its assessment as testing domain knowledge and how well you evaluate answers.
  • On your profile, name the areas you could write a full proof in today (real analysis, say, or probability) and your level of study, rather than listing every course you took.
  • Practise reviewing: take a proof you know well, read it as a skeptical grader, and name each step that needs a justification it does not give.
  • Read our interview prep pages before the AI interview.
