Physics Expert (AI Training Waitlist)
Sovrano AI: pay and who it accepts · Posted
What you'll do
This is a waitlist, not an open seat. Applying adds you to Sovrano AI's physics network; you then take a short AI interview (about 20 minutes, per the ad), and Sovrano contacts you only if a physics project comes up that fits your profile. No project is attached to the application, and Sovrano says plainly that it will not contact everyone on the list.
When a project does arrive, the job is catching physics that looks right and is not. A model can reproduce a known result and the textbook steps toward it; the errors that matter are a factor dropped halfway through, an approximation used outside the range where it holds, or a number that fails the first sanity check a physicist would run. Depending on the project you would:
- write original problems in your area, with the full solution a careful physicist would write out
- review other experts' problems and solutions against an acceptance checklist
- grade AI derivations and numerical answers for wrong assumptions, algebra slips and results that do not survive a check
Reviewers look at everything, and you are paid for approved work only.
Who fits
The formal bar is a degree in physics or a closely related field, in progress or finished. That puts strong undergraduates and master's students in range, not only PhDs. You also need fluent written English, a reliable connection and a quiet place to work, and you must be willing to work without AI tools when a project forbids them.
The skills Sovrano tags cover the standard core (classical mechanics, quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics and statistical mechanics) plus mathematical physics and experimental methods. Breadth across those helps, because a project in one subfield can open long before one in yours.
What it pays
Up to $150 an hour. That figure is a ceiling: the rate is set per project and sent to you in writing, with scope and hours, before you start. No minimum is published. Payment terms are not published on the listing.
This listing has no guaranteed work at all, so treat it as a way to be on file rather than as income you can plan around.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Applying commits you to nothing; you can turn down any project you are offered
- Students still finishing a physics degree qualify
- Remote and part-time, open across North America, Europe and Turkey
- Scope, hours and rate arrive in writing before any work starts
Less good:
- No project exists behind this listing; you may wait a long time or never be contacted
- $150 is the top of the scale, and the rate you would actually get is unknown until an offer
- Only approved work is paid, so a rejected problem or review earns nothing
- Weekly hours are not stated
About this listing
Read from Sovrano's signed-in job list on 1 November 2026, where it was open for applications; Sovrano dated the posting 28 October 2026. Location is given as regions (North America, Europe and Turkey) with no country list. The requirements and skills above are the ad's own. See Sovrano AI.
How to get hired
- The screening is the AI interview of about 20 minutes that the ad describes; Sovrano's site says its assessment checks domain knowledge and evaluation ability. Take it soon after applying, since Sovrano reviews profiles from time to time.
- Lead your profile with the subfields you can solve problems in without notes, and your level (undergraduate, graduate, research). Sovrano matches profiles to projects, and a bare "physics" entry is harder to match.
- Before the interview, take a derivation from an old problem set, plant one error in it, and practise explaining exactly where it breaks using units and limiting cases.
- See our interview prep section for how AI screening interviews tend to run.
