Audio/Voice/Annotation Trainer: French Language

What you'll do

For the French version of this project, Turing wants people who can hold a lively conversation rather than record a clean read. Each session puts you in a group with other French speakers at a fixed date, time and time zone. You discuss assigned topics, ask and answer questions, respond to what others say and let natural reactions through, including short overlaps and backchannels. The recordings feed a multi-speaker diarization dataset, which trains models to tell speakers apart in group audio.

Nothing is scripted. The ad stresses this is not a solo recording or individual speech sample, and a silent participant does not count.

Who fits

• Comfortable speaking French in a group and carrying part of the discussion
• Able to be present for the whole session, in the stated time zone
• Willing to respond to prompts on varied topics without reading from notes
• Able to provide a quiet room and the required microphone setup

What it pays

Worth knowing

Good:

• Talking-only task, no writing or tools to learn
• Fully remote, with possible extension depending on performance and project needs
• Overlap with the Spanish, Arabic and Japanese versions means Turing may run similar sessions across several languages (inference, not stated in the ad)

Less good:

• Unpublished pay
• Sessions are scheduled, not on demand
• Equipment rules are strict: external mic with wired headphones preferred, a good wired headset acceptable, basic headsets, laptop speakers and Bluetooth not accepted. You must use the same gear as in your application audio sample
• Not employment
