What you'll do
This is analyst work pointed at a language model. You read long material, split it into smaller logical blocks, verify its claims with online research, and then work with the model on questions it tends to get wrong. When it fails, you write the right answer and the explanation that lets it learn from the miss. The ad's two examples are a sales-by-month comparison across locations (which one grew most depends on the time window you pick and how you treat early volatility) and a logic puzzle about a postman's delivery rules.
The French angle: the ad requires English and French, so expect to move between the two. The ad does not say which tasks are in French and which in English.
Who fits
- Working command of English and French (the ad calls multilingual ability mandatory)
- Good research and analytical skills, plus creative and lateral thinking
- Ability to give constructive feedback and detailed annotations
- Self-motivated remote worker with a laptop or desktop and a solid connection
- Preferred: a degree in engineering, literature, journalism, communications, arts, statistics or similar (experience can stand in for a degree), professional writing experience, Excel and Google Suite, data interpretation and basic arithmetic
The ad says no other specialised domain experience is needed.
What it pays
The ad does not publish a rate. Turing sets rates per project; see Turing for what its listings usually disclose. The ad promises "competitive compensation based on experience and expertise" and nothing more specific.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Three time options: 20, 30 or 40 hours a week, with a minimum of 4 hours a day
- Flexible hours inside the overlap window, fully remote
- No specialist background required
- Possible extension based on performance and project needs
Less good:
- Fixed two-month contract
- Needs 2 to 5 hours a day of overlap with US Pacific time (UTC-8), with 4 hours of overlap with PST stated in the commitment line
- Contractor engagement with no medical or paid leave
- Pay is not stated up front
- The requirements say commit to 40 hours a week while the offer details allow 20 or 30; check which applies to you
How you get in
The ad describes three online steps: an automated analytical challenge, then a business writing assessment in English, then a French language proficiency assessment. Clear all three and you are ready to start.
