What you'll do

German is the working language pair on this Turing assignment, together with English. The ad frames the job as analysing content and providing feedback to improve AI language models. You read long pieces, split them into logical blocks, summarise, check claims through online research, and work with a model on puzzles, and you build scenarios that make models fail so you can write the correct answer and explanation.

The ad's examples are working out which location grew most from monthly sales (which period counts, and should early volatility be discounted) and a delivery puzzle with ordering rules across four neighbourhoods. It does not state how much of the work is done in German.

Who fits

  • English and German, both mandatory
  • Good research and analytical skills, creative and lateral thinking
  • Detailed annotations and constructive feedback
  • Independent remote worker with a desktop or laptop and a good connection
  • Able to commit 40 hours a week for the contract, overlapping US hours

Preferred: a degree in engineering, literature, journalism, communications, arts, statistics or related (experience can replace it), professional writing background, Excel and Google Suite, and data interpretation and basic arithmetic. No other specialised domain experience is needed.

What it pays

The ad does not publish a rate. It lists competitive compensation based on experience and expertise, and Turing sets rates per project; see Turing.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Flexible hours and remote work are listed as benefits
  • Possible extension depending on performance and project needs
  • German is widely spoken, but the role still needs the analytical habits rather than a subject specialism

Less good:

  • The fixed 40 hours a week sits alongside a required 2 to 5 hours a day of overlap with UTC-8 (America/Los_Angeles), which is evening and night work from Germany
  • Contractor assignment with no medical or paid leave
  • No contract length, rate or assessment steps stated
