What you'll do
The Italian version of Turing's analyst assignment leans on research: the ad's own summary says to analyse content in Italian and improve AI language models through research. You read long material, break it into smaller logical blocks, summarise it, verify what it claims by looking things up online, and work with a language model on puzzles. You then produce scenarios the model answers badly, along with the correct answer and an explanation it can learn from.
Samples in the ad are a monthly sales comparison across locations, where the period and early volatility need judgement, and a postman puzzle with ordering constraints across four neighbourhoods. The ad does not say how much of the work is in Italian.
Who fits
- English and Italian, both mandatory
- Good research and analytical skills, creative and lateral thinking
- Constructive feedback and detailed annotation
- Independent remote worker with a desktop or laptop and a good connection
- Able to commit 40 hours a week for the contract, overlapping US hours
Preferred: a degree in engineering, literature, journalism, communications, arts, statistics or related (or relevant experience), professional writing background such as editor or translator, Excel and Google Suite, and data interpretation and basic arithmetic. No other specialised domain experience is needed.
What it pays
The ad does not publish a rate. It mentions competitive compensation based on experience and expertise; Turing sets rates per project. See Turing.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Flexible working hours and remote work are listed
- Possible extension depending on performance and project needs
- Suits careful researchers more than specialists
Less good:
- 40 hours a week plus 2 to 5 hours a day of overlap with UTC-8 (America/Los_Angeles), which means late-evening work from Italy
- Contractor assignment with no medical or paid leave
- No contract length, rate or assessment steps in the ad
