What you'll do

Italian technical support has a register problem that AI models get wrong often: whether to address the customer with Lei or tu, how many English loanwords (il file, il backup, fare il login) sound normal rather than lazy, and when a literal translation from English turns stiff. This listing wants native Italian speakers who can hear those differences as they are used in Italy, and who also understand the technical content well enough to say whether it is right.

The work, in Invisible's words, is reviewing AI-generated coding and technical customer service outputs: virtual agent responses, JSON structures, audio-related content and other technical materials. You judge them for accuracy, clarity and guideline alignment and explain your judgments in writing. The reference to pronunciation and audio content suggests some listening tasks too; the listing does not say what share.

Who fits

  • Native-level Italian, with a feel for pronunciation, phrasing, tone and conventions as used in Italy
  • Living in Italy is not required
  • Strong JSON skills: you can read, validate and troubleshoot it, and spot formatting or structural faults quickly
  • Working coding knowledge, enough to catch basic logic, syntax and functionality errors
  • Patience with detailed guidelines and a habit of giving concrete feedback

Italian developers, QA testers and technical support staff are the natural fit, including Italians working abroad. No specific programming language, qualification or years of experience is named.

What it pays

$21.00 an hour, fixed. The Canadian French, Dutch, German, Welsh, Brazilian Portuguese and both Spanish versions of this role pay the same, so there is no premium for Italian. Among Invisible's listings it sits above the common $17 rate for voice and text work and below the technical tracks.

The listing's terms: weekly payment via Stripe or Wise, independent contractor status, your own hours, no guaranteed minimum work, and no H-1B or STEM OPT contractors.

Getting in

Upload a résumé (roughly 5 minutes), then complete the "unlock paid projects" step (roughly 30 minutes, unpaid). Invisible says using LLMs, automation or scripting tools on your submission may disqualify you.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Italian is a mid-sized market for AI data work, with less competition than Spanish or German
  • Technical content makes the work more varied than plain text rating
  • No residence requirement, flexible schedule, weekly payment terms

Less good:

  • The rate does not reward the combination of native Italian and coding skill especially well
  • The listing does not say how many hours are available or how long the project runs
  • Unpaid qualification with no guarantee of paid work afterwards
  • About three months old when we read it
