Invisible Technologies (Meridial) screening: application, assessments and what to expect

Interview prep · By Nikolaos Petridis

Published Revised

Invisible hires AI training experts through Meridial. There is no single published AI interview: you build a profile, pass a project-specific qualification, then clear ID, tax and bank checks. Here is what Meridial states, what listings show and what applicants report.

Why this matters

Invisible Technologies hires its AI training contractors through Meridial, its expert marketplace (the marketplace itself runs at marketplace.inv.tech). Unlike Mercor or micro1, there is no single AI interview that everyone sits. Screening is a profile, a confirmation step, a project-by-project qualification, and identity and payment checks. Meridial's own FAQ says very little about it, so this guide separates what Meridial states, what we read on live listings, and what applicants report.

For how the company works (pay, contractor status, who is behind it), see the Invisible Technologies company page and Invisible Technologies AI trainer roles explained.

What Meridial says about getting in

Meridial's FAQ describes joining in three steps:

  1. Create a profile, indicate your skills and complete a brief confirmation step.
  2. Browse and apply to projects.
  3. If you are matched, sign a Statement of Work and contribute on your own schedule.

The FAQ does not describe an interview, a skills test or an English test, and it gives no details of what the "brief confirmation step" involves. It says Meridial "reviews your expertise against current project needs" after you join, contacts you if there is a match, and keeps your profile active if there is not. It also says plainly that access to the network does not guarantee project engagements.

Meridial's FAQ says its compliance infrastructure holds SOC 2, HIPAA and GDPR certifications. It does not say how long review takes.

What the listings show

The detail is on the individual project listings on the marketplace. On the listings we read in October 2026, the onboarding flow had two parts before paid projects open up: upload a résumé (shown as about 5 minutes) and complete a qualification (shown as about 30 minutes).

The qualification differs by project. On the AI Coding Response Review (Expert) listing, it is a 25-minute assessment: a short video introduction about your coding experience, three multiple-choice questions and one hands-on coding exercise. The listing says it is unpaid. Another technical listing, Technical Task Auditor, matched candidates to one of eight tracks and tested them in that one. So expect a test tied to the specialty of the project, not a general entrance exam.

Meridial's marketplace also asks for ID verification, tax details and bank details before paid work. Each listing states a fixed rate and a Statement of Work. Most listings say they cannot support contractors on H-1B or STEM OPT status.

Is there an AI interview?

We did not find one described in Meridial's or Invisible's own documentation for the expert marketplace. A recorded video introduction appears inside at least one project qualification (the coding review listing above).

A separate point: in March 2026, a Business Wire release reported that Invisible agreed to acquire WeCP, a company focused on AI-native technical assessments, with plans to integrate it into Meridial. What that changed in the assessments candidates see is not published.

Invisible's corporate job postings (Greenhouse) say it may use automated decision-maker technologies to filter candidates by their application answers. Those postings are for staff roles, not the marketplace, so treat that as context only.

What applicants report

Everything in this section is what applicants say, not what Meridial publishes. It comes from Trustpilot, read on 30 October 2026, and none of it is verified.

  • Trustpilot. Meridial's page showed 1.5 out of 5 from 35 reviews on 3 November 2026, with 88% one-star. Trustpilot does not fact-check reviews, most reviewers appear to be people still applying, and some claims on the page are unsubstantiated.
  • Stalled verification. Several reviewers say they got stuck at address or identity verification. One wrote in May 2026: "My registration is stuck at the last step, address verification." Another, in August 2026, called it unfixable on their side.
  • Unpaid tests, no work. A reviewer in October 2026 described "unpaid assessments that never led to any real work", and another wrote "No project given" after being accepted. This matches Meridial's own statement that nothing guarantees work.
  • Camera and screen sharing. Reviewers in September 2026 objected to being asked for microphone, camera and full-screen sharing during assessments.
  • Slow support. One reviewer said a support ticket was answered after 2 months and 23 days.

Pay on the listings

From listings on our site, dated 30 October 2026: AI Coding Response Review (Expert) at $25 an hour; Multilingual AI Evaluation Expert at $17 an hour; Senior Terminal Systems & Infrastructure Expert at $35 an hour; Geospatial Research and Analysis Expert at $40 an hour. Rates are set per project, so the unpaid qualification costs the same time whether the project pays $17 or $40.

How to prepare

  • Read the whole listing first. The qualification tests what that listing asks for. The coding review listing, for example, grades communication quality, not code correctness.
  • Get your documents ready. A current résumé, a government ID, proof of address and your payment details. Our guide on identity verification on AI training platforms covers what these checks look for and common causes of failures.
  • Make sure your name and address match across documents. Address verification is the step applicants most often say stalls.
  • Set up your machine before starting. Some assessments may ask for camera, microphone and screen sharing. Close other apps and use a quiet room.
  • Do one sitting. Set aside the 30 minutes the listing shows, plus time for a video introduction.
  • Do not rush the English or reasoning parts if you meet them. Reports say retakes may not be offered, though Meridial does not publish its retake policy.
  • Tailor the résumé to the project. See the AI training resume: what screeners look for and how to pass AI training qualification tests and assessments.
  • Apply to more than one project and platform. A passed qualification does not guarantee a place on a project.

What Invisible Technologies does not publish

  • No description of an AI interview for the expert marketplace, and no statement that none exists
  • No pass marks, scoring rubric or pass rate for qualifications
  • No retake policy for qualifications or any English test
  • No review timeline, and no explanation of what "under review" means
  • No rejection feedback that we could find
  • No country exclusion list, since eligibility is set project by project
  • No account of what the WeCP acquisition changes in the assessments candidates sit
  • No guarantee of work after you join; Meridial says so itself

Questions

Does Invisible Technologies use an AI interview?
Meridial's FAQ does not describe one for the expert marketplace. Screening is a profile, a brief confirmation step and a qualification set per project. At least one listing includes a short recorded video introduction.
What is the Invisible Technologies qualification test?
It depends on the project. The AI Coding Response Review listing we read describes a 25-minute assessment with a video introduction, three multiple-choice questions and one coding exercise, unpaid. Other listings show about 30 minutes, and some technical projects test you in a specific track.
How long does Invisible Technologies take to respond?
Meridial publishes no timeline. Its FAQ says it reviews your expertise against current project needs and contacts you if there is a match. Meridial does not guarantee any work.
What verification does Meridial require?
The marketplace asks for ID verification, tax details and bank details before paid work. Some Trustpilot reviewers say they got stuck at address verification for weeks or months, though those are unverified individual accounts.
Is the Invisible Technologies qualification paid?
The listing we read for AI Coding Response Review states the qualification is unpaid, and onboarding steps like ID, tax and bank checks come before the first paid hour. Rates are set per project and were between 17 and 40 dollars an hour on listings on our site on 30 October 2026.
Can I retake an Invisible Technologies assessment?
Meridial does not publish a retake policy. Read the instructions on your assessment before starting.
