What you'll do
A short, self-contained recording job. You get a script and a step-by-step guide, read the script into a phone or computer microphone, and submit the recording through the platform AfterQuery designates. The ad puts the work at about 15 minutes or less.
The point of the project is accent coverage: AfterQuery wants genuine Australian-influenced English on tape, not a performance of one.
Who fits
- A natural, authentic accent. The ad is firm that faked or imitated accents are not paid and are removed from the project.
- A smartphone or computer with a microphone
- Enough English to follow simple written instructions without help
- No stated requirement on gender: the ad says all genders are welcome
One thing to read carefully: the opening of this ad says it is looking for German-accented or Australian-accented English speakers, and the qualifications list says German-influenced. The title and the rest of the text point to Australian. If your accent is one or the other, check which version the application page describes before you spend time on it.
What it pays
The board headlines $50/hour, but the ad itself says the pay is $50 flat per submission, and a submission takes roughly 15 minutes. Treat it as a one-off payment per recording, not an ongoing hourly rate. The ad does not say whether more than one submission per person is allowed.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Very low barrier: no credentials, no prior experience asked for
- Quick to finish, and you do it on your own device
- Priced at $50 for a short task
Less good:
- Spots are limited: only 3 to 5 speakers are being accepted for this accent, so the window may close fast
- Payment depends on the accent being judged authentic; rejected submissions are unpaid
- The ad does not publish payment terms; see the company page for how AfterQuery generally pays
About this listing
Read from the AfterQuery Experts board on 18 October 2026, where it is dated 16 June 2026. The wording on the German versus Australian accent is the ad's own inconsistency, flagged here rather than resolved. See AfterQuery.
