What you'll do

This is a one-recording job, not an ongoing workload. You read a short script aloud, following a step-by-step guide, and send the file through the platform AfterQuery designates. The ad puts the effort at roughly 15 minutes or less.

What the project is after is Estonian-influenced English as you actually speak it. The ad is firm that the accent must be your natural one: a faked or imitated accent goes unpaid and the submission is removed.

Who fits

• Speakers whose everyday English carries a genuine Estonian influence; all genders are welcome
• Anyone with a smartphone or a computer that has a microphone
• People who can work through written instructions without hand-holding
• Nice to have: earlier voice recording, narration or audio contribution work

What it pays

The ad states $50 flat per submission for the single recording. The board headlines $30/hr for this listing, and I have entered that as the hourly figure; the $50 is the number the ad text actually promises. A 15-minute task paid at $50 would work out higher per hour, but only if the recording is accepted, since unauthentic accents are not compensated.

Worth knowing

Good:

• Very short commitment; the ad calls it quick-turnaround
• Pay is a fixed sum for the submission, not tied to review of hours
• No specialist background is required

Less good:

• Spots are scarce: only 3 to 5 speakers are accepted for the Estonian accent, so applying early matters
• If the accent is judged imitated, you are not paid
