What you'll do

This one is for people whose English carries a Slovak accent that they did not have to put on. You follow a written step-by-step guide, read a provided script aloud, and upload the recording through the platform AfterQuery designates. The ad puts the effort at roughly 15 minutes or less, and describes it as a quick-turnaround audio project.

Who fits

  • A natural, authentic Slovak-influenced English accent; imitated or faked accents are not accepted
  • A smartphone or computer with a working microphone
  • Enough English to follow simple written instructions without help
  • All genders are welcome, according to the ad
  • Preferred, not required: earlier voice recording, narration or audio contribution

The ad is blunt on authenticity: a submission with a faked or imitated accent is not compensated and is removed from the project. If your Slovak-English is genuine, that rule costs you nothing.

What it pays

The board headlines $30/hr, and the ad body states $50 flat per single recording submission. The ad does not explain how the two relate, so treat the flat per-submission figure as what a completed recording earns. The listing does not publish payment terms; the company page covers how AfterQuery pays contractors.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Very small time commitment, one recording
  • Flat payment per submission rather than pay tied to review of long work
  • Prior recording experience is a plus, not a condition

Less good:

  • Only 3 to 5 speakers are being accepted for the Slovak accent, so the window is narrow
  • One submission means one payment; the ad describes no ongoing work
  • A rejected accent means no pay for that recording
