What you'll do
This is a single-recording job, not an ongoing contract. You read a short script aloud by following a step-by-step guide, then submit the recording through the platform AfterQuery designates. The ad puts the effort at about 15 minutes or less.
What makes the Urdu listing distinct is the accent being collected: English as spoken by people whose first language is Urdu. Speakers of Urdu-influenced English are spread across Pakistan, India and the diaspora, and speech models that only hear a narrow slice of English tend to do worse on them. That is the gap this kind of recording targets, though the ad itself does not explain its use of the audio.
Who qualifies
- A natural, authentic Urdu-influenced English accent. The ad is firm that faked or imitated accents are not paid and are removed from the project.
- A smartphone or computer with a microphone.
- Enough written English to follow the instructions independently.
- Preferred: some experience with voice recording, narration or audio contribution.
All genders are welcome. The ad names no country of residence requirement.
What it pays
The board headlines $30/hr, but the ad text describes $50 flat per submission, so the real return is the flat fee for roughly a quarter hour of work. Read the figure on the board as a headline rather than something you will bill by the hour.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Very short commitment, with a fixed payout stated up front
- No audio experience required
- Phone recording is enough
Less good:
- Only 3 to 5 speakers are accepted for this accent, so places are scarce
- Anything judged to be an imitated accent is unpaid
- The ad does not publish payment timing or terms; the AfterQuery page covers the general payout cycle
