What you'll do

This is project-based modelling work for people with 1 to 3 years in corporate finance. Tasks resemble corporate development or FP&A: building detailed financial models and answering finance questions, applying accounting principles to real scenarios (the ad names NOLs, DTAs and operating leases), and translating accounting and tax considerations into forecast P&L, cash flow and balance sheet impacts.

It is the hands-on, technical end of finance: less opinion, more getting the three statements to tie after a tax or lease treatment.

Who fits

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in corporate finance or FP&A
  • An understanding of financial modelling and accounting

The ad lists no degree, credential or preferred qualifications. It positions the work as useful for people aiming at investment banking, private equity and hedge fund recruiting, or practising modelling for internships and full-time roles.

What it pays

The board headlines $80/hr. In the ad's own words, project-based pay starts at an estimated $60/hour and can go up to $100/hour, so we record $60 to $100/hr. Pay depends on the project. The ad does not publish payment terms.

How the work is structured

Work is assigned project by project and runs over roughly the next 2 to 3 weeks, asynchronously. The ad expects a commitment of 10 to 20 hours a week on the projects you accept.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Open to people early in their finance careers
  • Remote, async, and you choose which projects to accept
  • Real modelling and accounting tasks that build technical skill

Less good:

  • Project-by-project work with no promise of continuous hours
  • Payment terms are not published on the listing
