What you'll do

Mercor is running projects to improve how large language models browse the web, and needs a project manager inside them. The ad is short. The duties it names are:

• Tracking project and annotator performance in Google Sheets
• Reviewing annotator quality
• Handling communications with contributors
• "And more", which on a project like this usually means whatever is blocking delivery that week

The quality review part is what places this in AI training work rather than generic ops. You are the one deciding whether annotators' browsing traces and answers are good enough, and following up when they are not.

Who fits

The ad asks for high agency, strong organisation, an analytical mindset and genuine investment in LLM training projects succeeding. An ops or project management background is preferred, but the ad is explicit that the bigger requirement is being able to take an unfamiliar problem and own it end to end.

No degree, years of experience or tools beyond Google Sheets are named. That openness cuts both ways: it is accessible, but you will be judged on how you present your track record of ownership. Former annotators or reviewers who ended up organising their teammates are a plausible fit.

What it pays

$50–60 per hour. Payment is weekly via Stripe or Wise. H-1B and STEM OPT candidates cannot be supported.
