What you'll do

This is a time-boxed review project: AfterQuery is bringing on psychologists for 3 weeks starting in October 2026. You read how AI models respond to clinical psychology scenarios and judge whether the clinical reasoning, ethics and risk handling hold up. You explain where a response goes wrong and what a licensed clinician would do instead. Some contributors also help write realistic vignettes and reference responses.

The longer-running alternative is the pool-based Psychologist Expert role, which has a wider pay band but wants 2+ years after licensure and 10 hours a week.

Who fits

  • PhD or PsyD in psychology from a US institution
  • An active, unencumbered US psychology licence, currently practising in the US
  • A clinical, counselling, health or neuropsychology background
  • No minimum years required, which is the main difference from the standard role
  • Clear written English for documenting clinical reasoning

Preferred: risk assessment, safety planning or crisis work, experience writing clinical documentation, supervision notes or teaching material, and an interest in how AI handles mental health conversations. The form asks for a psychologist licence, marked optional.

What it pays

$90/hr flat, matching the board figure. The ad states no range and no weekly minimum; you work as much or as little as fits around your practice, with no screen recording, keystroke monitoring or idle timers. Payment is weekly via Stripe.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • No minimum years of experience, so newly licensed psychologists can apply
  • Fully async, fitted around a practice
  • A shorter, simpler hiring path than the pool roles
  • The flat rate is the same as the bottom of the standard role's band

Less good:

  • Only 3 weeks of work as described, with nothing said about extension
  • Lower than the board figure for the standard Psychologist Expert role
  • US doctorate and US licence required, and you must be practising in the US
  • Onboarding includes ID verification
  • Contractor status: no benefits, your own tax to manage

About this listing

Read on the AfterQuery Experts board on 18 October 2026; the ad was posted on 6 October. The steps are an application with licence details, a review that gives every applicant a decision, then onboarding with ID verification, the contractor agreement and Stripe. See AfterQuery.
