Software Engineering Expert

What you'll do

AfterQuery's general software engineering role: project-based tasks spanning development, debugging, code review and technical implementation across different stacks. You write and ship tested code, debug and refactor existing codebases, review others' code, collaborate asynchronously on specs and architecture decisions, and document APIs and approaches.

The ad frames it as the next 2 to 3 weeks, project by project, with an expected 10 to 20 hours a week on the projects you take.

Who fits

• 1 to 3 years of professional engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern language and ecosystem
• Independent scoping and delivery of features or fixes
• Data structures, algorithms and system design fundamentals
• A Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred: full-stack exposure, Git and CI/CD, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and open-source or personal projects.
