Game Developer

Rex.Zone: pay and who it accepts · Posted

What you'll do

You evaluate how well AI models write game code. You create practical tasks covering game logic, animation, UI, physics and performance, review game codebases and project structure (explaining architecture and design decisions), and assess AI-generated gameplay code, scripts and scenes for correctness and quality. You also write reference solutions with short design explanations for training use and give structured written feedback on model output.

This one is engine-agnostic: the ad accepts Unity, Unreal, Godot or similar, whereas the Mobile Game Developer listing is Unity and C# only and asks for expert level. Here the bar is 2+ years, the lowest experience bar of Rex.Zone's software roles. Work is remote contract with calibration and review sessions.

Who fits

  • 2+ years of hands-on game development
  • Proficiency in at least one engine (Unity, Unreal, Godot or similar) and its main language (C#, C++ or equivalent)
  • A portfolio of shipped titles or prototypes
  • An understanding of core game design and player-experience principles
  • Fluent written English

Preferred, not required: experience with large or multi-platform codebases, XR development, and AI or data-generation project experience.

What it pays

The listing states $50–125 an hour, slightly above the Mobile Game Developer ceiling of $120.

Rex.Zone's listing states USD $50–125 per hour, "adjusted by country of residence". The ad does not say how the adjustment works, so the top of the range may not apply everywhere, and where an offer lands in the range is not published. Payment terms are not published on the listing.

Worth knowing

Good:

  • Open worldwide, with no country restriction stated
  • Any major engine qualifies, and the 2+ year experience bar is the lowest among Rex.Zone's software roles
  • A paid use for game-engine expertise in an AI context

Less good:

  • Pay is adjusted by country of residence and the ad does not explain how
  • Verified-users-only applications and an entry exam come before any paid work
  • The ad states no hours or volume, so how much work you get is unknown
  • Contractor agreement terms on ownership and licence are still marked as to be confirmed by Rex Legal
  • A portfolio of shipped titles or prototypes is required
  • You must not submit export-controlled, military or defence-related technical data, or material you lack the right to share

About this listing

Posted on the Rex.Zone expert portal on 2 October 2026 and read from the signed-in portal on 29 October 2026. The requirements above are the ad's own; it lists no skills tags. Rex.Zone does not publish payment methods or payout timing, and the listing does not say how pay is adjusted by country. The portal marks applications as open to verified users only, and most roles sit behind an entry exam. See Rex.Zone.
