What you'll do
micro1 is recruiting here for a leading AI lab (not named) rather than a generic customer project, and the scope is short and concrete:
- Assess model outputs on valuation, financial modelling, markets and investment analysis
- Write expert-level prompts and the reference answers that go with them, grounded in real deal experience
- Flag errors, weak reasoning and unrealistic assumptions in model responses
- Give domain feedback that directly shapes how the model behaves
The reference answers are the core deliverable. A prompt is only useful for training if the answer attached to it is right and shows its reasoning, so expect to spend more time building a defensible answer (the DCF, the comps set, the reasons a multiple is or is not realistic) than writing the question.
Who fits
- At least one year at a well-known financial firm or a legitimate startup, in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, a hedge fund or growth equity, with at least part of that time within the past seven years
- An undergraduate degree from a top-ranked university
- Being based in an English-speaking country
- Strong written English
That is an unusually low experience floor for this pay. The filters that carry the weight are the pedigree ones: the firm has to be well known (or a legitimate startup), and the university top-ranked. Neither is defined.
What it pays
$245–280/hour, micro1's published figure and among the highest rates on its board. The band is narrow, so placement matters less than getting in. micro1 runs the same $245–280 band on other expert listings for what appears to be the same lab programme, including Management Consultant. No compensation structure, weekly hours or project length are stated.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Very high, tightly banded pay
- 100 openings, the largest intake among micro1's finance roles
- One year of experience qualifies, as long as some of it is recent
- The customer is described as a leading AI lab, and the task list is specific
Less good:
- "Well-known firm" and "top-ranked university" are gatekeeping terms the ad does not define
- English-speaking country is listed as a preferred qualification, not a formal location rule; ask if you are elsewhere
- No weekly hours, duration or compensation structure published
- Check your employer's outside-activity policy if you are still at a fund or bank
- Contractor engagement: no benefits, no notice period, your own tax to manage
About this listing
Posted by micro1 on its own jobs portal and read on 24 September 2026. The $245–280/hour band, 100 openings and qualification list are its own published text. Location is given only as remote; the English-speaking-country line sits under preferred qualifications, so no country list is set here. Payment terms and schedule are not published on the listing.
