What you'll do
Unlike the general FP&A Expert listing, which is about writing scenarios and rubrics, this one is tied to a single planning application, Financial Forecaster, and to AI agents that operate inside it. You review what the agent actually did in the model and decide whether it was right.
Per the ad, the work is:
- Reviewing agent rollouts: judge whether a completed run landed on the right scenario, account, coordinate, accounting basis, conclusion and deliverable
- Finding failure modes: spot tasks that are too easy, or solvable without really using Financial Forecaster, and explain where and why agents fail
- Raising realism and difficulty: refine prompts and the seeded model so tasks feel like genuine FP&A and lender-reporting work
- Sharpening grading: make sure correct answers pass and wrong ones fail, including gating failures such as using the wrong scenario vintage, taking an add-back the credit agreement excludes, or stating a figure that was never written back to the model
- Catching plausible wrong answers: a number that looks right at the wrong grain, or a conclusion that is true in isolation but inconsistent with the rest of the pack
The tool knowledge that matters
The ad is unusually detailed about what you need to know cold. In short:
- Navigating multidimensional models and reading a cube at an exact coordinate (Time, Entity, Department, Product, Region, and facility dimensions such as Debtor or Aging Bucket)
- Scenario mechanics: parents, inheritance, overrides, locking, and identifying the forecast of record by its lock or acceptance date
- Input versus calculated accounts, and when to fix an account formula rather than override an assumption
- CSV imports and unit and scale discipline (thousands versus dollars, LTM versus YTD, the figure off by 10x or 1,000x)
- Credit agreement mechanics: frozen GAAP, test periods, fixed charge coverage, total net leverage, EBITDA add-backs and caps, borrowing base and eligible accounts, compliance certificates
- GAAP, non-GAAP and covenant measures, plus the standards that decide answers: ASC 205-40 going concern, ASC 280 segments, SAB 99 materiality, Reg S-K Item 303 and the AICPA PFI guidance
If most of that reads as your normal month, you are the target applicant.
Who fits
- Weekly or more frequent hands-on Financial Forecaster use in your current or recent role, for real forecasting, covenant or reporting work
- 5+ years as an FP&A analyst or manager, financial reporting or technical accounting analyst, treasury or lender-reporting analyst, or controller
- The confidence to mark a plausible answer wrong
- Bonus: covenant and borrowing base reporting, going concern or impairment work, segment reporting, SEC or disclosure committee experience, and work across multiple models and entities
- A CPA, CFA or MBA is welcome but not required; working analysts are the main pool
What it pays
$70–110 per hour, paid weekly on Stripe or Wise. The floor is $10 below the general FP&A listing, but the ceiling is $20 above it, which rewards the tool fluency.
