Management Consulting Expert
micro1: pay and who it accepts · Posted Revised
What you'll do
You turn real client engagements into realistic scenarios: client context, business data, reference documents and stakeholder requirements. You design multi-step tasks involving business analysis, strategy, research synthesis and executive recommendations, and use agentic AI tools to develop the analyses, presentations and supporting deliverables. You verify the agents' work yourself and write the task instructions and objective criteria used to grade it.
What you need
- 5 or more years of professional experience in management or strategy consulting
- Direct ownership of substantial consulting workstreams, analyses and client-facing deliverables
- Hands-on use of agentic AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or Claude Cowork for substantive work; general chatbot use alone does not count
- 10 or more hours a week is required and 20 or more is preferred.
Nice to have
- A top-tier management consulting firm
- Commercial due diligence, transaction strategy or corporate carve-out experience
- Experience developing review standards, training junior professionals or writing internal playbooks
- Prior benchmark development or AI evaluation experience
- Availability for 20 or more hours a week
What it pays
micro1 states $60–120/hour and says pay is per task. Each task takes roughly 3 hours, after about 15 hours of initial environment development, and the ad says the estimate includes agent execution time. The ad does not say how that setup phase is paid, so ask before you commit. This is a different engagement from micro1's Consulting Specialist listing, which rebuilds slides at $150–350/hour; here the work is building whole consulting tasks and the band is lower.
Worth knowing
Good:
- Ownership of real workstreams is the bar, with a top-tier firm only preferred
- You design the task and its grading, not just the slides
- Fully remote; The ad prefers US and Canada, with the UK and Latin America also considered; it is not a hard country requirement, so we have left countries open.
Less good:
- Only 1 opening is listed
- Five years is required, against two for the slide-reconstruction listing, at a lower band
- Per-task pay with a long setup phase
- Agentic tool experience is mandatory
- The client is not named
About this listing
Posted by micro1 on its own jobs portal, read on 28 October 2026 with a High demand badge. This replaces an earlier micro1 post under the same title that has since closed. The band, timing and qualifications are micro1's own text. The ad describes four steps: screening questions, an AI interview that micro1 uses to present your expertise to the client, a profile review, then onboarding with micro1's talent ops team.
