Voice Actor: CX Agent Voice Cloning (Spanish - Peninsular)

What you'll do

A Mercor client, named only as a leading AI research lab, needs a Castilian Spanish voice for its internal "CX AI Agent". You record roughly four hours of conversational, narrative and instructional scripts, with extra takes on request, and the audio is used to clone your voice. A second session of similar length may follow; it is not guaranteed.

This is the European Spanish slot, separate from Mercor's Latin American, Mexican and Peruvian listings for the same project. Peninsular Spanish differs audibly from Latin American varieties (distinción, vosotros forms, intonation), and customers in Spain notice when a phone system sounds Latin American. The ad asks for a native Castilian/Peninsular accent; it does not say whether Andalusian, Canarian or other Spanish regional accents qualify, so if yours is not central-northern, ask.

Who fits

• Native Castilian/Peninsular Spanish speaker, currently living in Spain
• A clear, expressive voice; acting, narration or broadcast experience is optional
• A near-professional home setup: good microphone, pop filter, quiet room
• Command of intonation, diction and emotional range, reading exactly what is written
• About four hours for one session, possibly another later

Preferred: TTS, audiobook, IVR or AI voice dataset work, audio editing in Audacity, Adobe Audition or Reaper, and range across conversational, corporate, energetic and calm reads.

Spain's dubbing (doblaje) and locución industries train exactly the skills listed; experience in either is a strong signal.

What it pays

$50–100 per hour in US dollars, about $200 to $400 for the stated session, paid weekly via Stripe or Wise. The same band as the Latin American, Mexican and Peruvian variants. As an autónomo or other contractor you handle your own tax and social security on it.

What you are licensing

Your voice, for cloning. The ad asks you to apply only if you accept that, and restricts the recordings to the client's internal CX AI agent, with no sale, licensing or reuse for other products, datasets or purposes. It names no client, gives no term for the licence, offers no way to withdraw consent and mentions no payment for continued use. As an EU resident you can ask how your voice data will be processed under GDPR; the ad does not say.

Worth knowing

Good:

• A native Peninsular accent is wanted, which is rarer in speech data than Latin American Spanish
• Newcomers with a good voice and setup can apply
• Short, defined commitment
• Written limit on reuse of the recordings
• Weekly Stripe or Wise payment

Less good:

• Your voice may be cloned, with no mention of payment for continued use
• The ad says little about how the voice will be used: no client, no duration, no withdrawal right
• Unclear whether regional Spanish accents beyond Castilian count
• About $200–400 per session, with no guarantee of a second
• Paid in USD, with conversion costs to euros
• Independent contractor; projects can be extended, shortened or ended early
• H-1B and STEM OPT holders are excluded
